Is Eharmony really just a Christian and church freak dating service? I am a Christian, but I have found Eharmony to be literally filled with women who are not only Christian ... but very involved in their Church. They are also looking for a man who is involved in Church a lot. I've heard the same complaint from others who use the site. It's not very genuine as they don't say anything about it being a Christian dating service. Is it because that Warren guy looks like a TV evangelist or what?

What would happen if a bunch of atheists infiltrated a christian dating service? So all these guys let us say fall in love with beautiful atheist girls only to discover - too late! - that they have been ensnared by satan. Great idea for a script or what? I'm thinking for a cheapie made-for-cable flick. Input, anyone? I'll share screen credit (*fingers crossed*).

I like the idea of Christian dating service, but...? I'm not a wait for marriage kind of guy. Am I asking for trouble and frustration on a christian dating site? Or are some of the christian rules a bit more flexible than others?
Should a Christian led dating service be legally required to offer homosexual options? http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081119/us_nm/us_gay_marriage_eharmony;_ylt=AspL_62NdV2Qx3MNSwTNz_TLLJ94 A lawsuit is forcing eHarmony, a dating service started by an evangelical Christian, to offer services to single gays. Whether you agree with homosexuality or not, should they be forced to offer a service that was not in their original business plan. Its not the same as handicap bathrooms, as a private company they are being forced to offer a service that was not part of their original business mission. If a restaurant can deny service based on improper clothing (coat & tie, shoes, shirt) etc. why are they being forced to serve a clientel they had not intended on serving. Why is it a problem to specialize for one portion of the public, it is a private service after all. In a capitalistic society wouldn't it make more sense for someone to step up and open a homosexual based dating service rather than have government force a private institution to add new services to their business. A Christian business man should not be forced to have his business specifically do something that is against his personal beliefs and against the original intention of his business. Ruth, I have to ask if you have a link to provide more info on that b/c my search turned up nothing. Also, the site doesn't offer man seeking man or woman seeking woman; shouldn't that be a bold clue? Their research used to set up their site specifically is for heterosexual couples. In order to provide the same service for homosexual seekers they will have to invest in research and invest considerably.
I keep receiving emails from Christian dating services wanting to hook me up. Is this a message from God? If I do hook up with a Christian single, will he or she tie me down and get Biblical with me?

Do you of any Christian Domestic Discipline dating sites? I am looking for a dating service that deals in Christian Domestic Discipline where Charistian singles can find dates. Does anyone know of a dating service where others poeple are looking for the same thing?
How to find out if a person is who they say they are on a internet dating service? i am talking to a guy on this christian dating service and I really want to beleive in him but some things do not add up. How can I find out if he is for real. The picture of him may not be his. Please help me find out who this guy is. I want to believe that this is my soul mate.
Is EHARMONY a Christian dating site and ...? It is my understanding that eharmony is a Christian based dating service. Now they are offering the gay community a shot. I'm wondering why a homosexual in NJ felt they had to sue in order to be a part of a community of people that don't seem interested in homosexuals. Just the "principle"? Ok. Thanks. I was misinformed. I was told that it was a Christian dating site. Still not sure what is wrong with it being geared toward heterosexuals though.
Are there any internet christian dating services that offer free email? Most of them require you to pay in order to email other members.
Why would Christian wives advertise themselves on an online dating service? From time to time I've visited a well-known, popular online dating site (hope endures). Each time I've been surprised to find so many women listing themselves as "attached christians". Given the ages (30s-late 40s) I'd have to assume these are not just boyfriend/girlfriend types of attachment. What is even more interesting is when they describe themselves as "honest, loyal and trustworthy". (o.O) Now I suppose this might not be too bad if they were seeking christian men for bible study. But bible study doesn't seem to be amongst the activities they're seeking. Indeed, the activities they seek would probably be best found with a male of a different faith. Say a Pagan man. (O.o) Now even this might not be so bad if we were talking of just one or two. But there are nearly 100 of them in my local area alone. And there are more bears than people here. (O.o)(o.O) Would you care to explain this phenomena? Bear in mind that maybe their interpretation of scripture allows them to do that. Christians disagree over so many things ;-)
I get many bulk mails from Christian dating services, are these freaks for real? Why would a true Christian look for a mate in the internet, and what type of people parcipate in this Satanic venture?
Are those single christian clubs pretty much a dating service or is the nature of it different? plz help? I saw some cute girls come out of a singles christian ministry or club.........I was thinking what is a pretty girl doing like that there? What I find weird is that I saw this girl and 2 guys she seemed to know walk out of that place. Why would she come with 2 guys she already knows at that place? she was quite good looking!!! So yeah I don't understand...they most likely knew each other just by the way they walked out and how they were leaving together
christian online dating? does anyone know of a free christian online dating service for people under 18? i'v looked nd can't find 1!

How do you tell a mother that you met a man on a online dating service? Knowing my mother is a little old fashioned but I find nothing wrong with that. I know she'll ask me loads of questions about him. She knows that I am only suppose to marry a christian. Any advice people.
What is the best way to communicate in person the 1st time with someone you met from an online dating service? I am meeting someone for the first time in person. We meet on eharmony. Any one know the Rules of Engagement for online dating? It just feels unnatural but being a Christian makes it harder to find places to meet new people.
Have any advice or good sources of information on Christian dating? I need help now. ? I am well over 30 and dating. It was my Christian women friends who said, "why not?". No, I dont follow them blindly...but I do respect their input and believe it is important to fellowship and get good Christian counsel. Anyhow, now that I have met someone through my church--it has become rather complicated. Seems that every couple we meet has one member that is pushing for marriage and the other is just trying to figure out what to do. These are all nice people and devoted service oriented Christians. But none of them can make up their minds on the issues of meeting (is it God ordained and if so, what do we look for?), dating, marriage, sex and the rest of it. I'd like to tell myself that life expectancy wasnt so long when the bible was written and therefore, its different when you have an annulment over age 35....but noah lived to be like 600 or something and he had only one wife.....You should know that every one of these people wants a God Blessed commited marriage...not one of them would shy away if they were sure.....but since we already have a past and since we are all sinners anyhow....how are we supposed to know what to do? We have prayed together in small groups and me and my guy pray all the time. Is dating just strictly off limits for those that are divorced? widowed? or otherwise single over 35? help.
All the single Christian ladies...are you happy too? We live in a relationship-minded society, in which singles are portrayed in movies as lonely TV-dinner-eating cat owners with longings for a special person to make them whole. Within churches especially, there seems to be a surge of singles groups and Christian dating services. Within this culture, there seems to be little room for the single 30-ish Christian woman who is actually happy with her life as it is. When people find out that I am 30 years old, not in a relationship (and not actively searching for one), and actually happy, I tend to get variations of the following reactions: "You can't really be happy. You must be in denial." "Oh, you'll know what happiness is when you're married, dear." "Single? Really? Why do you have relationship phobias? I acknowledge the joy that can come with marriage, and I am happy for my friends who are happily married. But I wonder if I am really so rare. Surely there are other women out there who are not jaded by negative past relationships, but rather simply love their lives and do not feel the need to join a singles group to feel fulfilled. Well...is there?
Should dating sites be able to discriminate? Should they be allowed to limit themselves to whites only? Blacks only? Straight dating only? Gay dating only? Christian dating only? Atheist dating only? Most importantly, should the same rules apply to all? In NJ, a dating site was required to provide a gay dating service: http://www.newser.com/story/43153/eharmony-to-start-gay-dating-site.html
Anyone know a decent on-line dating service? I've tried a variety of dating sites online over the past few years (such as eharmony, yahoo, match, matchdoctor, and christian cafe). It seems like its all the same users on almost all of the sites and some I've tried contacting but don't they respond. I am looking for a dating site that is legit and where the people are quality professionals. I do not want to waste my time trying to hook up with someone only to find out that they don't have a job and live with their mother. If anyone knows of an internet site that fits the bill, please tell me about it! I look forward to checking it out. Thanks!
Is there a safe on line dating service one could trust?? I am a Christian and one that loves to have fun. Thanks for any help Bee Bee sendt you a message. Hope to hear from you. You are right and also lovely.
Without having to pay for a dating service, how do you find women in your area to date or companionship? m/50/ I am a male, 50yrs old, Leavenworth, Kansas I consider myself a good person, honest, Christian that's looking for first a friend, someone to talk to, email, share some of my life experience's with.
The difference between regular dating and christian courtships? What makes a Christian courtship different from regular dating? I have recently moved cities and gotten involved with a new church where I am located. I like the church and their interpretation of the Bible, it's very similar to my church back at home. The only thing that I don't understand/ agree with is their views on relationships. They are really big on courtships as opposed to regular dating. Hear me out, I'm not talking about the shallow dating where people have casual sex and have a new significant other like every month. The courtships I have witnessed don't seem genuine at all, it's like they find a partner who meets 4 or 5 chriterion and 5 months later are engaged but they don't know or LOVE each other. Where as my view of dating, you gradually get to know someone, maybe you will or won't fall in love with them. Also if courtship seems to be more like settling rather than an authentic relationship, for example two people courting will "accept" each others flaws for the sake of pursing marriage, where as two dating people learn to LOVE and APPRECIATE their significant others flaws and look at it as a part of that person whom they genuinely love. I'm not knocking courtship, I am fully open to the idea that it is a service to God... but what about the happiness of a couple, I just think it would be miserable to live in an "arranged" marriage situation. I hope my question made sense from my point of view. Please no mean or spiteful comments, I am still a young growing Christian and have ALOT more to learn and a long way to go on my journey with God.
Does anyone know if this is a free Christan singles website? If not how much does it cost? Anyone ever used this site? Is it free? http://www.togetherchristian.com/promos/christiansingles.htm?partner=265&keyword=christian+dating+service
Why does the separation mindset seem to be so prevalent within Christianity? Christian book stores, Christian dating services, Christian social networking sites, Godtube, etc.
Christians who have try "Equally Yoke"? Hello to all my fellow Christians... Someone told me about a Christian dating service call "Equally Yoke" and I am wondering if it is good? Have anyone ever heard of it before? Thanks and God Bless...
Does Jesus know Im asking stupid question on yahoo answers? If Jesus is all knowing, then he would know I'm wasting time right now by asking this stupid question right? Also would I be forgiven if I stopped asking stupid questions and started to ask more questions about football or how to start my own online christian dating service?
Okay I am fixing to go out on a date with this guy I meet on the internet and I have to tell my parents I meet? him on a christian dating service. About a month ago I tried online dating with the wrong website it was a casual dating website I would get really bad and crappy men. Ever since then my parents told me to leave online dating alone. So I switched to a christian dating service. I am 24 but I still tell my parents everything when it comes to my safety how do I tell them about me dating this man online? We have talked over the phone and I ran a background check to see if he was a s e x offender and he wasn't. How do I tell my parents that I am going on a date. Should I make up a lie?
How can I politely decline a second date? I met someone through a Christian dating service and we emailed, talked on the phone, and then went out for dinner. That dinner date; he brought me a dozen pink roses. Less than a week later, he sent me another dozen for my birthday. The problem is that he listed himself as 5' 10" (same as me) and he's at least 3 inches shorter than me. I'm not the slightest bit interested. The second date we were supposed to have; I "got sick" and had to cancel. When I didn't return his call once, he kept leaving messages asking if I was okay and not in the hospital!! He offered to bring me whatever I needed. He looked up where I live and got my employer from my Facebook. He calls and leaves messages on my cell phone and says "love ya" at the end. How can I let him know that I'm not interested without hurting his feelings? I mean, the guy sent me roses, lol. There is no physical attraction. It starts with him being shorter than me, but I honestly cannot ever imagine myself with him. I don't feel I'm being shallow but honest with myself. I'm not sure what I want, but I definitely know what I don't want. He has asked where my son's baseball games are so he could bring his son to watch. I told him no way that it was much too soon to even think about introducing him to my kids. Then he tells me how excited his son is to meet mine because they are the same age and all. Yes, it's creepy and a little pathetic. All the more reasons why I don't want to go out with him.
What is she saying? Is she scared? Or? I met a girl from a Christian dating service and we have been dating a month and she was very warm at first and then she started wavering back and forth. Sometimes very loving and other times very distant and her text messages become short. I have fallen for her quick and yet she says she wants to go slow and doesn't want to get into something too quick like she has in the past. I have asked her how she feels and she says she notices our differences, but really enjoys being with me and she wants to keep her options open. She still goes to the dating site, but she says it is more of a joke now from the contacts she has had. She includes me in the things she does and yet when we are there with her friends she withdraws. I have asked her if she has interest in someone else and she says no, but I can't commit to anything either. I did not contact her yesterday and she contacted me late in the day. She went out with a friend of hers and texted me while she was out. She then put comments on her fb page about where she was and what she was doing and also added pictures. She put scripture on her page saying to always guard your heart first. I feel like she is trying to make me jealous since I ignored her yesterday... What do you think?
is it ok for christians to use internet dating sites? im not calling myself a christian but praying for a bf or spouse has produced 0 results and am wondering if its time for me try to a dating site - someone aksed me once which you trust god or computer to match me up - to answer that question - a computer because at least that way i would be matched - if god said its not good for man to be alone - then he need to be god about it - either he said it or he didnt - he either mean genesis 218 or he didnt - but its not fair to me or anyone who wants to be married to be hindered because of what paul said in i cor 7 - is it really fair to anyone for god to say one thing and do another - because god said its not good for man to be alone but to call someone to be single to serve him instead - well cant have both ways - should a person seek out a dating service if one has seeked out god and god has not intervened - is it really wrong or could the dating site be the answered prayer - because prayer alone has failed whats a "believer" believe in what - i believe my computer is working becuase im looking right at it lol - im agnostic - so this marrying an unebelieve doesnt apply to me as im not religuos - that verse applies to believers but im not a believe anymore and dont need a religious person and we would have nothing in common
Where do single Christian men meet nice single christian woman? I would like to know if there are truly any dating services that are free for Christians?
This may seem sneaky, but should I, an atheist, even consider dating a christian girl? I became atheist over the summer. I used to be a christian. Every thursday night, I go to this thing called the Baptist Student Ministry...where christians gather in this building on campus to sing worship songs and listen to the BSM director preach. Well...I still go so I can participate in the volunteer services they do (I only do the volunteer activities that don't involve me talking about jesus.). So...I am a closet atheist, basically. I sit in the back of the room and write notes in a notebook while the BSM director preaches, so I can show my future kids how ridiculous christianty's beliefs are. I saw two girls checking me out tonight. Both of them are cute. However...should I even bother striking up a conversation with girls at the BSM in order to date them in the future? I don't know if these girls are strong in their faith (delusion) or not.... I often make fun of christianity, and I actually have a strong hatred for christianity, because I was raised in a christian home, being taught superstition (religion) and lies for 20 years of my life by my family. I hate fundamentalist christians. ...Should I even bother trying to date a christian girl from the BSM (or any christian girl), or would I be miserable? Everyone there thinks I am still a christian.... I think I already know what I should do regarding this situation but...I'd like some outside advice. Thanks!
Christians, love at first sight? I have been praying for a mate, and God seems to have sent a man with all my requested characteristics, the problem is I don't feel the chemistry yet. We met on a Christian online dating service and have chatted on the phone and met in person once. We will spend more time this weekend. What do you say, should I know right away or give it more time to develop? CC, my God is God.......and he loves you too. :) All things considered Steadfast... thanks :)

DO you think that using online dating services and chatlines are a sin? I have been single for about a year know and I would like to get back on the dating scene. I am a new christian and I want to know what is or isn't off limits. Please Help me
Heart broken (yet again) by (yet another) christian woman (this is getting so old it is predictable). Advice? You would think once was enough. But when you believe in giving people fresh starts, despite your experience with others, I guess this is going to happen. In both cases the promises they freely made they freely broke. And then there is that dating service I've used from time to time, advertising (amongst others) married christian women seeking affairs (and no, the one who broke my heart wasn't amongst those). Should I just make a policy that shuns all christian women, if for no other reason than just being christian? Shall I make a new policy that only gives opportunities to pagans, wiccans, et al? I've always believed each person should have their own opportunity, but I'm beginning to doubt that policy.
Do I wait for the man or move on? I have been talking online to a man I met a few months ago. I met him on a Christian online dating service and he is very respectful and believes in a courting relationship, rather than a typical dating relationship. So, he likes to take things slow. We both agreed that we really like each other and he even told me he wants to make a trip in the spring to meet me. The only thing is that we haven't really talked regularly in the past few weeks because his mother is ill with a poor prognosis. Is it wrong for me to still talk with other people that have emailed me on the dating service, after he has expressed his desire to meet me? I really do like him and I hate to sound selfish (I know that he is busy with family matters) but how long do I wait for him to actually call me or take some time to chat online? Is that selfish of me considering his mother is ill? I sometimes feel a bit guilty about responding to other men's requests to get to know me, but how long do I wait for him?!
A bunch of general questions about marriage? Can a male Muslim marry a non-Muslim? If so, would it be better to marry an Atheist or a Christian? Can Muslim females marry non-Muslim males? What are the steps required to marry in Islam. Does Islam require for a wedding party? Is it wrong to marry a non-Muslim when there are Muslim choices available, but the Muslim women are not compatible with you? Also, is it allowed to use a dating service to search for Muslim females in your area if you're after a Muslim bride?
How do I start dating again? How do I start dating again? I was married for 33 years. My husband died 11 months ago. I am afraid to try. I want to date a christian man, one who is liberal in politics, loves history, hates country music, loves cooking. Likes books, is open minded, honest. I do not want to date on line. Most of the people are not truthful. Also, I feel like you are paying for services. I feel like it is cheap. It makes a woman look cheap.
Will Gay dating sites be forced to offer heterosexual dating? Will Blackpeoplemeet be forced to serve whites? Where does it end? NEW YORK, Nov 19 (Reuters) - Online dating service eHarmony has agreed to create a new website for gays and lesbians as part of a settlement with a gay man in New Jersey, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General said on Wednesday. The website will provide a dating service with "male seeking a male" or "female seeking a female" options, the Attorney General's office said in a statement. eHarmony said it will launch the new same-sex dating site, named "Compatible Partners," by March 31. The settlement was the result of a discrimination complaint filed by Eric McKinley against eHarmony in 2005, which will be dismissed under the settlement agreement. eHarmony was founded in 2000 by evangelical Christian Dr. Neil Clark Warren and had ties with the influential religious conservative group Focus on the Family. The New Jersey complaint is not the only legal action to be brought against eHarmony for failing to provide a same-sex option. In March, lawyers in California brought a lawsuit against the company on behalf of San Francisco resident Linda Carlson, who was denied access to eHarmony because she is gay. "We believe that this case is now essentially moot, and we're confident that we will prove that in court," eHarmony vice president Antone Johnson said in a statement about the California case. http://www.reuters.com/article/bondsNews/idUSN1935377720081119
Born again Christians? I've got a friend who is in the middle of a divorce and lonely. Have you ever tried the Christian internet dating services and were they any good? Would you recommend one? I'm not particularly religious - just looking out for my friend who is! Get off my back, guys! Stick to the question.

It's hard to tell which ones are really any good. thanks
Is fire_warrior777 a yahoo user? I seen his add for a christian dating base, and wanted to contact him outside the dating services.
Keeping in touch with your former flame? How many of you still keep in touch with your former flame? The ex and I split amicably and decide to remain civil – I only keep in touch by email or phone just a few months to see how he’s been doing… But last week, I received an email that he’s been seeing another girl he met on a Christian dating site considering he’s an agnostic (that’s one of the reasons we broke up because of our spiritual differences.. This is how I met him as well in an online dating service…) I want him to be happy but at the same time, I couldn’t helped feeling a bit jealous and he was bragging about the new girl as well. I feel like he was throwing it on my face considering he’s doing pretty well in his personal life but I’m still doing fairly OK well – I still am looking after a family member who’s trying to recover from cancer. I realized life is too short – I cant be bothered by playing mind games with people. I’ve blocked him from my life and I want to live an honorable life.
Why,in recent months,am I receiving so much SPAM from YAHOO addresses? How do they get my address? Security?? Everyday I receive several spam massages for dating services, people selling watches, drugs, christian networks, etc. Many times they appear to be from Hispanics. Most go to my spam inbox but it is still a bother. How can I stop this? What happened to allow these people access to my YAHOO email address? Do I have to change my email address over and over?
Christian Couples Maker? Does anyone know anything about this service? I was on line and filled out some information and the next thing I know, I get a call from them wanting me to come in for an interview. This is a dating service where they arrange the people you date. I asked how much this was and they would not tell me on the phone. I really don't plan on going, but I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this company.
Why did she ask me and my exgirlfriend if we were dating? Alright, so...i broke up with my girlfriend about 4 months ago, however, we are still friends. Well, my exgirlfriend invites me to come to this "college christian worship service"....so, I went to it. BTW, this was only the 2nd time she had gone to the service also. So we were both new. Anyway, my ex told me she is always the one who has to initiate the conversation with the other students. At the end of the service, this girl (who has a boyfriend BTW) hurridly came over to me and my ex and said hello to me. After a minute or so, the girl asks randomly, "Are you two...?" (She was asking if we were dating.) I quickly said, "No, haha, we are just friends." My question is...Did that girl come up only to meet me and get some info about me and if I was single? Did that girl want to see if I was single for one of her friends maybe? Oh and then, about a week ago, she asked my ex if we ever did date, and my ex said "yes, we used to." So...do you all think I have a secret admirer?
Can you recommend a Christian church denomination? I need to find a church to attend! What I'm looking for: 1. It MUST be super "hardcore," in other words, all members must take their Christian faith VERY seriously every day of their lives. Their Christian faith must be to them a matter of life and death. The Jehovah's Witnesses are an example of this sort of "hardcore" dedication, but I've ruled them out since their supreme leaders have several times predicted the end of the world on particular dates, only to be proven wrong. The Mormons too are very serious, but I do not believe that their founder, Joseph Smith, was a prophet of Heavenly Father. 2. It MUST be a part of a national or international denomination or association of churches that has endured for at least 50 years without any significant changes. 3. It must NOT be Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Southern Baptist, Assemblies of God, Missouri Synod Lutheran, Presbyterian, or any denomination that compromises or waters down the Bible, or has "fun" worship services.
how can you say, if you dont go to church your not a "true" christian? how dare some ppl to fix their mouths to say only "true" christians are in a building. you show me a "true" church and ill love to go! just because i refuse to join churches that have twisted His word or have the entire service on a schedule (oh we will sing for this long) dont mean im not a christian. ALOT of the board members TRY to commit sexual immoral acts! yeah they LOVE asking married women on dates while they know the husbands! i could go further with this but i wont. i do have church at my house, i do pray, i do read His word and i do worship Him! i have felt His presence more on me at my house then the whole time ever stepping foot inside a building. (alex) i can believe that. im not trying to diss all churches. but one should not say another person is not a christian just cause they dont attend a building.
Online Chat Being Sued What do you think? LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The popular online dating service eHarmony was sued on Thursday for refusing to offer its services to gays, lesbians and bisexuals. A lawsuit alleging discrimination based on sexual orientation was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on behalf of Linda Carlson, who was denied access to eHarmony because she is gay. Lawyers bringing the action said they believed it was the first lawsuit of its kind against eHarmony, which has long rankled the gay community with its failure to offer a "men seeking men" or "women seeking women" option. They were seeking to make it a class action lawsuit on behalf of gays and lesbians excluded from the dating service. eHarmony was founded in 2000 by evangelical Christian Dr. Neil Clark Warren and had strong early ties with the influential religious conservative group Focus on the Family. It has more than 12 million registered users, and heavy television advertising has made it one of the nation's biggest Internet No Ruling this was just announced!!
