What are the rules for dating as a new Christian? I'm a new Christian went on a 2nd date with a woman that is on her way to becoming born again. The date was to be dinner and a movie. When I picked her up she told me she already ate and was not in the mood for a movie so we went and played a few games of pool instead. For starters SEX is not even a issue, I have taken a vow of abstance.
What are the "dating rules" for christians? I have fallen in love with this christian girl who just got "reborn" this sunday. I am christian but do not pratice it. What are the rules in christianity? Is the only rule "no sex before marriage" or am I missing something?
I am a highly devoted Christian and undergoing breaking some rules? So I have been dating this Christian for two and a half years and we are just ending freshman year. We are all about being a good example and stayig true to God, but I have been having these deep feelings now for him. I know that if we weren't Christians we would have done 'it' already, but we know we have to stay devoted to god. What's the farthest we can go without sinning? I hate this rule in the bible!
Dating a Christian....? OKAY. SO. I really like this boy, but he's a christian. I have nothing against Christian people. I don't really have a religion, but I was wondering is there any special...dating rules? Like, (we're both of age) sex? Any and all help is appreciated...
i need help on islamic rules for dating and marriage? i love this muslim girl and she loves me but we cant date because i'm christian and because muslim women (from what i hear) aren't supposed to date. i want to make this work but all i get are negative answers. does anyone know anything that has to deal with islam that can back both of us dating. some helpful things to know about me is that i am willing to sacrifice anything to be with her and i am sorta passive.
Is there like any rules Christians must follow when dating? shes like super religious i guess? My christian said that then she will probably follow the "date to marriage" principle. Will this affect her decision? Christians or anyone please help me. I'm Agnostic so yeah. But I do go to church because friends go at times... If there are any rules or anything please tell me. And I'm not horny, I just really want to know her even more. Like truly, nothing sexual. So basically she is like REALLY shy. Well I am too, but like once I know someone I am actually pretty outgoing and stuff. So I guess we're both introverts? I like this senior girl, but like I'm a junior. She is like 2 years older than me. She is going to school in the east coast. (I live in west coast). I have been friends with her for about like 2 years. Although she isn't like hot, but she is like the nicest person ever and is cute which I really like. But like recently I started to like her more than a friend for some reason. I mean school is almost over already.. :(. I mean we hang out at times, so yeah im pretty chill with her. Is it weird? Tips and advice please. Please be serious.

Why does my Christian friend act like this? We're both young adults and Christian. I invited him over on a snow day that we had thinking that we could just watch a movie but he made me feel uncomfortable. Basically he groped me the entire time he was over in front of my mom (we were in the family room), when I pointed out that he isn't acting Christian he got really defensive. Why does he act like this? Also, what are some good Christian dating rules to live by. Thanks. Maybe I should clarify we are both over 18; I turn 19 in a few weeks and he's almost 21.
What are the basic rules of mormon dating? I'm not mormon, but this girl I like is, and I was wondering what the basic rules I should know are. (I'm Christian, but not the mormon branch, I do know mormons are christian, so don't say anything about that)
dating a christian friend...? i really like a great friend of mine but she set a 'no dating non-christian' rule for herself and i am not a christian. should i just give up on it?
I'm dating a christian? ok well I've been going out with a girl who was christian but not serious about it till well tonight..errr last night, and she now tells me that she is no longer going to fool around with me and the furthest she will go is making out with me, me myself am not christian I'm not religious, but for some reason she see's no problem with this and doesnt let that stop her from seeing me, but my question is, we've already fooled around quite a bit but now all of a sudden she has a rushing need to fufill herself with religion, and is laying down rules left and right about what I can and cant do, and quite honestly I think this is bull$#*t, I mean really I just got through a tough period of trying to be with her and have her friends leave us alone and now she is throwing all these christian rules on me...where where these rules before!?! my question is should I wait a while for this girl to either come to her senses or what should I do? she wont tell me how long I would have to wait or anything and yes for people asking I do love her and she says she loves me back
Dating a Christian Girl? Right there this girl i like yer and you know all the stuff that comes with that, but she is also a christian. Do christians have any rules or things they cant do in a relationship because of their religion? Added some more stuffz like i am an atheist
Christian Guys, can you give me some insight? To Christian Guys, Help Please? Basically, I like this guy who goes to my Christian college. We're both very strong Christians but I'm not used to dating hardcore Christian guys. My recent ex of 2 years was an atheist and we broke up about 5 months ago so I'm a little rusty. The rules of Christian dating seem completely different from secular dating. I barely know this guy but we have a lot in common and he's a really great Godly man. He's smart, funny and handsome. He loves to read Chesterton and C.S. Lewis and wants to be a film maker (I'm a photographer) and missionary (I do as well). I think he might be into me but I'm not sure. I guess I have a couple of questions: 1. What attracts you to a girl? 2. How to you behave if you do actually like a girl? 3. How is it ok for a girl to show that she's into you? 4. What would make you ask a girl out? What would stop you? By the way, I've been told that I'm intimidating because of how I look and speak but I'm really not. He's pretty shy like me. I don't know if this effects anything but I thought I'd add it anyway. I'm also almost 21. Say something to him? Like what? He looks at me all the time but doesn't say anything. Sorry, I think you may have misunderstood me. I am free to be myself, I'm my crazed self whenever he's around but he makes me a little flustered because he never says anything, just stares at me. I'm not sure of how to encourage him to approach me because he's shy and a lot of guys don't like forward girls. Thanks!

Nothing should. Ok, to that last answer, what signs? How obvious to I have to be without being pathetic?
Are there any "rules" when it comes to dating a Muslim man. ? I am an non practicing Christian who has just recently started to date a muslim. I am very mindful of his religion & do not want to appear disrespectful or ignorant .... Anyone got any general first hand information that might help me not mess it up ? Serious answers only please.
My girlfriend dumped me because I'm not a Christian? I've been dating this amazing girl for the past month, and last night she dumped me because I'm an athiest. Its killing me, because I really do love her and she told me that she feels the same way, but thinks that in the long run our religious differences would really hurt us. I told her not to blame God, for dumping me but she says that she really wants to keep dating me, but thinks that its wrong. I want her back, but she is really religious, her father's a pastor, and I don't want to convert just so that she'll date me, that'd be empty and meaningless and she'd see right through it. How strict are the rules for Christians dating non-christians? What can I do? Just to update, I've known her for about a year now and we've been good friends, but we've only dated for the last month. I knew about her religion before we started dating, but I didn't think it would be a problem for her.
Born again Christian: dating/courtship? I'm just wondering if there are other people who are in the same disappointed position I am in. I come from a conservative church, was raised with Joshua Harris as if it were its own gospel; I followed all the rules to courtship, and still got your heart broken. Had a 10 month relationship with an amazing Christian guy who up and told me one day out of the blue he "didn't love me anymore" and was moving to China. Have you been disappointed like this? Do you think God really plans who you're going to marry?
Christian dating sites? I'm checking them out. I keep seeing this requirement; must place God first, before family and life. Are they looking for a preacher or a missionary? I've known a LOT of Christians, and they have to work. Work generates money, which is necessary. Work rules our lives, like it or not. I also see another popular cliche...totally sold out for Christ. Are there really normal working people out there that will forsake their family and job for God? Sorry I'm late boss, I got wrapped up in prayer...I am not trying to be disrespectful, but NORMAL people must take care of business first, and tend to God in their free moments. What say you?
Should dating sites be able to discriminate? Should they be allowed to limit themselves to whites only? Blacks only? Straight dating only? Gay dating only? Christian dating only? Atheist dating only? Most importantly, should the same rules apply to all? In NJ, a dating site was required to provide a gay dating service: http://www.newser.com/story/43153/eharmony-to-start-gay-dating-site.html

ALright so i recently started going to church and met a gurl (shes the pastors daughter) there and things have started off really good we went on the first date and things went very well. shes giving me all the body language signs thats she into me in church and when we were on the first date. We went out on a second date and we went to the movies with sum of her friends and again things went great. we always flirt and hug during and after church. wehn we were out at the movies she said that we could go see a movie that i wanted to see the next weekend and have already made plans for the weekend after . after church i told her to give me a call or text cuz shes going to school and works and what not, but she told me that she has the rest of the week off with a smiley face. but i put the ball in her court so she can get with me. but she hasnt but when we go to church things r fine. i dont want to act needy and keep texting her i want her to do sumthing. when we first started talking she text me with like sorry i was busy today and we would talk or i have to go to work but i will talk to u soon but that was the first week and since then she hasnt. i dont know if im just think about it to much and need to chill out and wait or just text her. i dont wanna make her run cuz ive done that in the past so ive learned from my mistakes. also im not to sure how the christian dating rules work do u kiss or anything do u show affection??
Christian parenting/ teen dating? Our daugther is 15 and she likes a boy who is also 15. He likes her as well. We have plenty of guidelines and rules for them to follow as friends, who like each other, but to get to know this boy, my husband and I would like to ask him some questions, say..over dinner. I need a list of them. Or some links maybe? We are Christians and one of the first questions we hope to ask is about his faith. Please only serious responses. I did put this in the religious category because I am looking for Christian responses. Folks, I listed this question in two categories for reasons that I wanted well-rounded answers. If you would like to see a huge contrast and some common assumptions, read the same question under parenting. But I must explain here, as I also had to in the parenting category that I am not interested in causing this boy to be nervous. I just wanted to know more about him and since I already know he is Christian, I thought asking about his faith would be ONE WAY. I was asking YOU for ANOTHER WAY. So calm down "peeps" (as they say)....I was needing some good Christian advice and although some have given, a lot more couldn't deal with the fact I was planning on discussing faith with this nice boy.

Well to answer a question about why I feel faith is important, I care very much about who she is friends with, boys or girls. Has nothing to do with getting married. Also, its important to know that scripture tells us that we are not to be "unequally yoked." If you are a Christian (she is), then why be interested in a boy who is not also a Christian?---- in addition, we already know that he also is Christian, but by asking him about his faith, I mean by asking why he has a faith and what it means to him. I believe that to be a wonderful way to get to know someone and begin to understand them. I just wanted some help with questions in order to know him better---I'm not interested in judging ANYONE. Faith or no faith.
Christian and Muslim dating? I just got into a relationship with this girl. Im from Ghana and I'm a christian, she's an american black girl from harlem and she's muslim. I've read that muslim men can marry anyone they want no matter what the religion is but muslim women cannot marry anyone outside their religion. Is this a rule that applies to all muslims or is there a difference b/w being a muslim from the middle east and a black american muslim? It's too soon for me to say i wanna be with her 4ever and marry her but if we do go that far but can't b/c of her religion, can we at least date each other?
Parents teen dating question (preferably christian but tell me what you think) im 13? my parents found out about my girlfriend and made me break up wi th her, you see my parents dont let me date for reasons such as "you cant be friends afterwards", "you dont need all the emotions" and "holding hands only leads to sex", yeah i know, that was just retarded, but as i was saying, i disagree, you see my dad was a playa and my mom was a slut and both were druggies, but then in there early 20s converted, and now they raise with rules as if we were like them, but the thing is our relation ship wasnt like that, we didnt go anywhere past kissing, even after like 6 months, and she has really kept me out of trouble, and gotten me closer to fit. like i used to be addicted to porn, now i cant watch it without feeling like an *** and i cant stand it so i stopped. i felt like a dork with my athletic gf while i played world of warcraft, so i quit my subscription, even though i was like half a bar from my first level 80. i would always feel bad meeting her friends because she was really good looking and i was a little overweight, now people are starting to notice that i've been losing weight. i used to do drugs and things, but one day she found out and asked me to stop, i havent been high in months. i really dont think anything has taken a turn for the worst since we started dating. so my questions is what kind of arguments would you suggest i raise? and what should i do to get them to change their minds?
Christian parents - what would you do if your 18 yo was dating a non believer? My daughter has been dating a very nice boy for about four months now. His parents have put tremendous pressure on him to break up with her. There have been various reasons given including; * he is wasting her time as because she isn't Christian it's not like she marriageable or anything (as she is only 17 in a few weeks this is a non issue as far as I'm concerned), * he is disrespecting his parents principles by not listening to them and this goes against his teachings. * if he is not following God's laws he is not welcome in their home and he needs to choose between our family and theirs. We have done nothing but make this boy welcome in our home, especially after they packed up his belongings when he stayed here following a sports injury where he couldn't drive home. They had already told him that he had two weeks to leave but still rang and told him that he was disrespecting his faith by being here and not at home. Our daughter is very young and we have two younger boys so of course we have laid down very strict rules on sleeping arrangements etc. Despite what people may think just because we are not churchgoers doesn't mean our kids sleep around!! Even though his parents say that they know this they still insist that by spending time here he is not following their principles. The first time he stayed here was after he had an argument with his step father and later received a text from his mum telling him he was not to come home that night!! What else were we supposed to do - kick him out onto the street like they did? They insist this is not a reflection on our family (yeah right!!!) but on their son's faith. Would you kick your 18 year old out of home because they were dating someone of a different faith or had no faith? BTW they are members of the Reformed Church if that makes any difference. http://www.reformed.org.au/ He was educated at a local fundamentalist school and left as soon as he legally could. His younger half siblings are being home schooled. The ONLY talk of marriage is coming from his parents - as in my daughter is the marrying kind (stupid freaks!!) Tammee - did you even READ the question?? Obviously in the above edit I should have typed that his parents think my beautiful, kind, caring, intelligent daughter is NOT the marrying kind.
I have a complex situation that involves my best friend and dating...btw i'm christian? k the deal is that I'm not aloud to date for a year (by my moms ruling) because last year I dated a guy, dumped him and he turned creepy stalker guy on me. but a few months after we broke up my best guy friend asked me out and I had to tell him that rule so he asked if I'd mind if he waits for me, so he's been waiting for me for about a year now and we've grown really close and he's my absolute best friend, we share everything and anything, it's been going well but..... sometimes we tickle each other and hug is that going to far out of my parents rules? it's only when something really bad happens or if one of us does something that the other appreciats.... I know that a reltionship done by disobeying my parents too much is doomed to be a bad situation, but on the other hand he's a christain too, he understands the rules and is trying to obey them,... if it wasnt for the fact that he's waiting for me I'm pretty sure it would seem we're just normal friends but I wonder if this is too far that wasnt suposed to be a question mark at the end of the header I can not put my real age but I can say that I'm in highschool ast5792 I wasnt bashing you I have a couple of homsexual friend and I've given them the same answer I gave you and may I also remind u that you posed the question and left your self open for attack (which I realy didn't do it's simply a stament) and I have left my self open for attack by posing this question just as you did. also might I ask what you and your husband did before u declared yourselfs life partners? also ast5792 I said God dosent like your sin, I did say he loves you & I'm a sinner too. I'm not sure if God approves of my lifestyle so I've tryied talking to friends,my pastor, searching my bible and now finally this. If I knew that this was right or wrong I wouldnt have posed the question. and I now have a feeling that you just enjoy messing with peoples religons... I looked at your other questions ast5792 and u have isusses
Are too many leaders inside and outside of the Christian faiths ignoring good rules that would bring peace? Kitty Piercy Mayor of Eugene, God wants us all to get along not fight and he means you to! Meaning ALL in Eugene and beyond! Kitty Piercy Mayor of Eugene Term: January 2005 - January 2009? [Need up dated?] 777 Pearl Street, Room 105 Eugene, OR 97401 541-682-5010 541-682-5414 (Fax) Kitty.Piercy@ci.eugene.or.us Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl was installed in June 2006 as the sixth Archbishop of Washington. Archbishop Donald Wuerl U.S. Apostolic Nunciature 3339 Massachusetts Ave. N.W. Washington DC 20008 By a old unskilled writer in Eugene Oregon but do not let that make you over look this serious point of history and is change coming fast enough? And what is hampering peaceful growth? The United Nations as been around for over 60 years to stop all war after world war II and yet do we see peace and security? After World War I they set up the same idea program of nations and yet World War II came! So where is the proof mankind can rule without God's help? If not one person ever once ignored Romans 12:19 would there be peace and security on earth forever? From King James Bible "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." For that to work not one person can ignore that even once! But with imperfect free will today and bad attitudes earth wide can the world hope for that to ever be a real hope? If God said vengeance is mine is it his will any "Christian" nation go to war with any nation Christian or otherwise? Or does church and state of all kinds world wide at war time conflict with God's will? About religion that back selfish governments not God's loving kingdom righteous will, will the governments and U.N. get the revenue income idea and eat up their counterfeit secular businesses that only put on a show of being a religion if they willfully ignore God's vengeance rule above? The point I am trying to make is here, Jesus did not like the religious leaders of his day [or our day] making all that money off the poor needy worshipers in a greedy way right in his Father's house of worship. Jesus said at John 2:16, 17 "And he said to those selling the doves: “Take these things away from here! Stop making the house of my Father a house of merchandise!” His disciples called to mind that it is written: “The zeal for your house will eat me up.” Our zeal for God's house of worship should make us feel the same way! "One scholar says that Jesus' action in evicting the merchants "was aimed not only at the prestige of the priests but at their pockets." So have a tax law going after the clergy and their greed that will benefit all nations and bring peace and security! Obama speaking to the nation, "Change has not come fast enough," Obama said before a politician-packed House chamber and a TV audience of millions. "As hard as it may be, as uncomfortable and contentious as the debates may be, it's time to get serious about fixing the problems that are hampering our growth." Are counterfeit secular businesses that only put on a show of being a religion hampering our growth? Government leaders of all nations for world peace and security give power to the United Nations to tell all religious leaders to obey the vengeance right rule or we will back tax you out of business! Preach only peaceful things no vengeance in any form at all but God's if we preach otherwise! Make Peace and Security your focus point for all you’re preaching! Or we will outlaw you as a counterfeit religion working against world peace and security! God wants us all to get along not fight and he means you to! Internationally, nationally, locally, and family too! Are we in need of skills in that area of life? Where can we get those skills? Biblical Christian law for a start? How about Matthew 7:12 for a start? And read right after that in the Bible of Matthew chapter 7 and note the bad things that will come to us if that one area is ignored by any of us big or little person in the world!
I am attracted to a very traditional Christian girl from work. Does she lke me? Hello people, hoping you could help me out here with this question. I'm a single 25 year old. I am introverted for the most part, I am out going with people I know, but it's hard for me to make new friends. Consequently I am now 25 and have never dated. 5 weeks ago a lovely girl started where I am employed. I didn't have much to do with her in the first few weeks, but we would talk fairly often, to the point where other staff members began gossiping. I began to develop feelings for her and the week later we were assigned a group project that took us out of the office. For 5 days we worked side by side and chatted for hours and hours, consequently affecting our work. When we returned to the office we stopped talking as frequently to discourage gossiping, but we began emailing each other frequently, usually 5 times an hour of which she initiated mostly. The crux of the problem is this. She is very Christian and traditional. I am Catholic and I don't have a problem with her beliefs or the extent of them, in fact I respect this about her. I find her spirituality one of her most attractive qualities. I am a lapse Catholic, talking to her has made be reconsider God and Jesus more closely and consequently I have begun to strengthen my faith. I have started reading the Bible and I talk to God often. I have made an effort to not swear, not use God's name in vain and not pass judgement against others. The week after our offsite project she asked to talk to me privately after work. We went to the local bar where we sat down and chatted. This was her forth week at work and the second that I had really known her. She asked me where I saw us going and I said that I had feelings for her but wasn't sure. She seemed upset that I had feelings for her and explained that we wouldn't be able to be togeather. She said that she has asked God to tell her the right person to marry, that it's wrong for her to have a relationship with someone who doesn't believe (even though I do) and that the Bible teaches against having a boyfriend girlfriend relationship and further mentioned that her parents were friends for years and then got engaged and subsequently married. I was initially quite hurt, because I had only known her for two or so weeks and to be written off so early upset me. Anyway I walked her to the bus and saw her off. During the conversation she mentioned somethings to be I thought were interesting. She had no friends, no proper friends. People have distanced themselves from her because of her rules and because she openly talks about Jesus and God. She said she's been hurt ini the past by this and I get the impression she doesn't want to be hurt again. Anyway the following day she seemed nervous around me and would only speak to me in a casual way during a group conversation. I received no emails. At lunchtime I went into the kitchen to eat lunch, she was there with a few others. After about 30 minutes she got up to go outside for a walk. I watched her go and chased after her. She was surprised to see me and thought that I wouldn't want to talk to her again. We talked a little about last night and she reiterated that she was confused and was sorry for some of the things she said. Everything was fine for the next few days, the emails resumed and she talked to me more freely. We even went out for dinner as a group where we sat next to each other for 4 hours just chatting away. I dropped her home afterwards. She told me during the drive that doing things along togeather constituted dating and there were certain rules, such as getting parents permission. She understands that we are currently just friends but the perception from her parents would indicate otherwise, and while she is free to make her own choices, said her parents points of view carried weight with her. I said that's understandable and that we can just do things as a group if it makes her more comfortable. I have been open to her about my feelings and why I like her. I said I treasure every moment we spend together, that I find her very spirtual, cultured and sweet. She said I was a nice person and thanked me for the kindness I had shown her over the last few weeks and said I was very sensitive and that she liked that about me. Anyway yesterday at work everything was going as normal, we were trading emails and laughing and what not. She invited me out at lunch, she was going down to the local Christian book store and wanted me to come. I said yes and walked with her. We returned to the office and ate lunch togeather. Later in the afternoon our emails again started becoming serious. She thanked me again for taking her out to dinner (with the group) and said she really enjoyed herself. Said she wanted to do things with me as a group and needed time to sort through her confusion. I again reiterated that I had feelings, take the time you need and that doing things as a group was fine by me. I also said that any relationship takes risk and that everyone goes through this. She responded with mentioning being hurt in the past by people, saying real life was not Hollywood and that she just needed my paitence. That was the last words exchanged on the matter, we had to go home, she had a bus to catch. I am not sure if she likes me or not. She certainly likes to talk to me and spend time with me, but I think there are things about me she can't accept from a religous perspective. Do you think she likes me? Can someone give me advice on how to deal with this. I am happy to be paitent, but obviously in the long-run there is a limit to how long I can put my life on hold.
Boyfriend coming over for first time to meet christian mom..Help?!? Okay so me and this amazing guy have been dating for almost two months now and believe me it has NOT been easy. I've had to lie to my mom about the whole thing until just recently, because she got the phone bill. so now she's FINALLY gonna accept it, but only under her rules, and her values. like we're only allowed to be together under supervision, which is fine i guess, since we go to school together and stuff but like we're only going to be on the phone for 10-15 minutes during the summer everyday, and see eachother once a week at my house or his dads house, and she wants us to both read this christian dating book, we're not allowed to kiss, or w/e..we're both 16. we've told eachother we love eachother. (i really dont want to hear how we're too young) i really like him, but im scared my moms rules are going to be overbearing and shes going to scare him off. i dont want to lose him so what do i do?
I wanna date a church girl - Christian.? I'm male 33yo, good family, values, no kids never married, good job, good shape...in other words a guy ready to settle down. I had troubles dating wrong people. I found out that christian girls that attend a church are very appealing to me. Anybody else has my same experience, and if yes, why should I date a christian girl and how? Are there specific rules? What church should I attend in order to find a great girl ready to settle down with me? Thanx to all! I'm Christian, and I dont really have a specific denomination. I believe in God and in christian principles, but I dont really care too much what denomination is it (methodist, catholic, baptist...)
dating a jehovah witness boy could his religon be the cause? ok so in january i was dating a boy who was jehovahs witness and everything was great we had a great relationship. there was so much communication it was awesome but out of no where he broke up with me and we didnt speak for a month and i havent seen in since we broke up. i asked him why he did it and he says its complicated. and its something that has to be told in person. so i still havent gone due to having no money for the trip. i read a few days ago that its against their rules to date outside religon. im a christian :) could this be why he broke up with me? could he get banished from his religon and family for dating me? sorry to all JW but that is the most messed up thing ive ever heard! GOD loved us all even though adam and eve sinned he still loved them he did not BANISH them. so can someone please explain to me why if you break any rule you are disfellowshipped? because im thinking about studing JW to try to understand why they do that.. so yeah why is it that people get disfellowshipped when God Loves everyone no matter what they do.
Mormons- Is it against your rules to date/marry Christians? And what happens if you do?Also, why are Mormons so big on "Family".They always have big families. And how hard would it be to convert a Mormon guy into Christianity?? DONT YOU DARE CALL ME AN IDIOT.If Mormons are Christians, then why are they called MORMON??And why don't they believe in accepting Jesus Christ as their personal savior?NO ATHIESTS PLEASE, YOU ARE NO HELP are Mormons really against birth control? I think YOU lady who asked that, are rude and ignorant yourself. If you aint gonna give me a decent answer, dont answer at all.And if you really want answers, ASK THAT IN THE POLLS AND SURVEYS.not on my question-weirdo can someone give me a good website that explains it to me?Would it be weird for me to visit a Mormon Church?
who should I pick part 2? Okay so If I do go with new guy, its a little scary cause I've never dated a good christian guy before. And some of my actions have not been very godly so my question is if I do choose new guy do I tell him my history? Most importantly what are the rules for christian dating?
What makes people so sure what is right and wrong about today's controversial issues? Some would say, "well the inerrant word of God." But seems to me the "word of God' (once you decide which religion to pick) can be interpreted any which way. In pre-Civil War America, the Southern Baptist Church was created out of support for slavery. Prior to the modern era, many conservative preachers opposed equal rights for women because they said it was "anti-Biblical." The christian conservative Bob Jones University had anti-interracial dating rules up to the year 2000. They, along with many christians of the past, interpreted the Bible into opposing interracial marriage. So lots of people in the past have used the Bible to support their bigot beliefs. People today are doing the same thing with gays. They are absolutely sure the Bible is against it, just like the Southern Baptist Church were absolutely sure the Bible condoned slavery. HERE IS MY ANSWER TO MY QUESTION: I prefer to let people make their own social decisions as long as it doesn't interfere with the rights of others. If you believe there is a God, and you believe a certain group of people are acting against God and hurting themselves, just leave them to it. If you believe in hell and hell is real, these people will burn in hell. Mind your own business, or at the very least don't use the government to restrict people's personal social decisions. Let them make up their own minds. Didn't the christian God give us freedom of will? I LEAVE YOU WITH THE WORDS OF FREDRICK DOUGLASS, FORMER SLAVE TURNED FAMOUS ABOLITIONIST, ON CHRISTIANITY AS PRACTICED IN THE SOUTH "I assert most unhesitatingly, that the religion of the South is a mere covering for the most horrid crimes--a justifier of the most appalling barbarity, a sanctifier of the most hateful frauds, and a dark shelter under which the darkest, foulest, grossest, and most infernal deeds of slave holders find the strongest protection. Were I to be again reduced to the chains of slavery, next to that enslavement, I should regard being the slave of a religious master the greatest calamity that could befall me. For of all slaveholders with whom I have ever met, religious slaveholders are the worst. I have ever found them the meanest and basest, the most cruel and cowardly, of all others." - Fredrick Douglas, Chapter 10, The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass http://memory.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/r?ammem/lhbcb:@field(DOCID+@lit(lhbcb25385)) bigmike, There is no doubt religious scripture against gays in the Old Testament and the words of Paul. There is also no doubt religious scripture in support of slavery in those sections of the Bible too. You won't find Jesus condoning slavery or bashing gays in the Gospels though.
Christians and dating? Is it OK to break up with someone that you are dating? What are the rules? Is there any number of people who can date?
Is it forbidden for a christian to date a satanisc? ok, I was just wondering...Im christian but my boyfriend is a satanisc...Would it be against the rules or something..?? would god be upset with me or something? how would i know if he were a true one? i dont really go to church anymore..i haven't in a few years
The Christian dogma has violated rights? The USA constitution forbids non-secular laws to be passed. These laws alienate and violate people that are not of the faith because of which the law was passed. In Michigan, alcohol cannot be purchased on Sunday (the Christian Sabbath) before noon. Now, it just so happens that I turn 21 on Sunday, and it also happens that I do not plan on buying alcohol before noon on this date. However, I feel the sole reason I am not permitted to do this is due to Christian rules. As an atheist, I feel I am having religious, non-secular laws unjustly enforced upon me. Why is it only Sunday? Why not Tuesday or Saturday? Because of Christianity. What do you folks, of all faiths and backgrounds, think of this. Is it unjust that I must obey the laws that was created exclusively by a group which I do not belong? What do you think of secularity? What is the possible danger of passing laws that have no logical secular purpose?
coptic orthodox Rules? I am an Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Christian and i was wondering why they have so many strict rules on dating

They are absolutely sure the Bible is against it, just like the Southern Baptist Church was absolutely sure the Bible condoned slavery. HERE IS MY ANSWER TO MY QUESTION: I prefer to let people make their own social decisions as long as it doesn't interfere with the freedoms of others. If you believe there is a God, and you believe a certain group of people are acting against God and hurting themselves, just leave them to it. If you believe in hell and hell is real, these people will burn in hell. Mind your own business or at the very least don't FORCE your morality on others through government action. Didn't the christian God give people freedom of will? The Southern Baptist Convention was indeed created over slavery. They split apart from the national church over that issue. SOUTHERN BAPTIST CHURCH APOLOGY FOR THEIR RACIST PAST WHEREAS, Our relationship to African-Americans has been hindered from the beginning by the role that slavery played in the formation of the Southern Baptist Convention; and WHEREAS, Many of our Southern Baptist forbears defended the right to own slaves, and either participated in, supported, or acquiesced in the particularly inhumane nature of American slavery; and WHEREAS, In later years Southern Baptists failed, in many cases, to support, and in some cases opposed, legitimate initiatives to secure the civil rights of African-Americans; and WHEREAS, Racism has led to discrimination, oppression, injustice, and violence, both in the Civil War and throughout the history of our nation; and WHEREAS, Racism has divided the body of Christ and Southern Baptists in particular, and separated us from our African-American brothers and sisters; and WHEREAS, Many of our congregations have intentionally and/or unintentionally excluded African-Americans from worship, membership, and leadership; and... Therefore, be it RESOLVED, That we, the messengers to the Sesquicentennial meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention, assembled in Atlanta, Georgia, June 20-22, 1995, unwaveringly denounce racism, in all its forms, as deplorable sin; and Be it further RESOLVED, That we lament and repudiate historic acts of evil such as slavery from which we continue to reap a bitter harvest, and we recognize that the racism which yet plagues our culture today is inextricably tied to the past; and Be it further RESOLVED, That we apologize to all African-Americans for condoning and/or perpetuating individual and systemic racism in our lifetime; and we genuinely repent of racism of which we have been guilty, whether consciously (Psalm 19:13) or unconsciously (Leviticus 4:27); and http://www.sbc.net/resolutions/amResolution.asp?ID=899 IN RESPONSE TO SHRINK, There is a difference between how liberals and conservatives use the government on social issues. Liberals seek to EXPAND social freedoms. Conservatives seek to use the government to RESTRICT social freedoms based on their conservative interpretation of christianity. That is the difference. Legalizing gay marriage just like legalizing interracial marraige, does not mean you have to marry a person of the same gender or different race. It simply gives you have the option, not the obligation. That is not forcing morality on others. SCRIPTURE IN THE BIBLE SUPPORTING SLAVERY. NO SPIN REQUIRED "Let all who are under the yoke of slavery regard their masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be blasphemed. Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful to them on the ground that they are members of the church; rather they must serve them all the more, since those who benefit by their service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these duties. Whoever teaches otherwise and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that is in accordance with godliness, is conceited, understanding nothing, and has a morbid craving for controversy and for disputes about words. From these come envy, dissension, slander, base suspicions, and wrangling among those who are depraved in mind and bereft of the truth." (1 Tim. 6:1-5) "Tell slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect; they are not to talk back, not to pilfer, but to show complete and perfect fidelity, so that in everything they may be an ornament to the doctrine of God our Savior." (Titus 2:9-10) "Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as you obey Christ; not only while being watched, and in order to please them, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. Render service with enthusiasm, as to the Lord and not to men and women, knowing that whatever good we do, we will receive the same again from the Lord, whether we are slaves or free." (Ephesians 6: 5-8) I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO INCLUDE OLD TESTAMENT PRO-SLAVERY SCRIPTURE. IT WOULD TAKE ME TOO MUCH TIME TO FINISH.
Anyone know anything about muslim dating? I am a christian but I really like a Muslim guy at my school. What are the "rules" to dating for them? Can they date? If so, can they date outside of their religion? He is 16 and so am I, does this have anything to do with it? I just really like him but am confused on whether I could have a relationship or not. Thanks for your help.
I'm 16 and a Christian. My parents won't let me date non-Christians. What should I do? My parents say I'm allowed to date, but only a Christian. All the guys at my school are non Christians. I keep getting asked out by these cute guys who I have a crush on, but I have to turn them down because of my parents rules. I don't think I have hope now to find a boyfriend because he needs to be a Christian. If you are a Christian, what advice do you have for me?
My 17 year old breaking the rules...? I have raised all my children with strict rules. These rules include no dating until out of my house (so no kissing either.) No sex before marriage, pornography, masturbation, etc. I have a strong Christian faith, and I expect my children to as well. Nobody had broken any of my rules before, until today when I arrived home early from an outing, I opened the door to my son's room to find him laying on top of his "best friend" (female.) french kissing with his hand up her shirt. My son had always followed my rules, and he promised me he wouldn't break any. She knew of the rule too. It would've been easier to handle if I knew he even liked this girl, or if I had just seen a peck. I didn't know he was kissing, or he had a relationship like that with the girl. I demanded an explaination, and they told me this had happened twice before, but they were still "just friends" and they didn't plan on it. I am so disappointed in my son. He was always so good and no longer seems innocent to me....... I feel like if somethig like that could "just happen" with his best friend, what could happen with anyone else? I've lost a sense of trust in my son. Now my son is avoiding me, and I need to open up a conversation with him. He knows I'm disappointed, and I feel he should be punished for this. He mentioned earlier that I just need to "ease up" I don't know exactly what he means. Isn't he wrong for breaking my rules? Shouldn't he be punished for disrespecting my policy in my own home? I've never punished my children before, because they were always so good. I don't even know what to say, or do.

I've never punished my children before, because they were always so good. I don't even know what to say, or do. Plus, he knew I didn't like this girl from the start. I trust myself he'll surround himself by good people, but she swears, wears a bit too much makeup, always counts on my son to help her fix all her problems, plus she parties all weekend, and disrespects her own parents. She's nice, and smart, and I trusted my son's judgement, but I feel that maybe I was right, and that this girl is encouraging his behavior.

Should only men preach or teach religion ? Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. (1 Timothy 2:11-12) 1 Cor 14:34&35 34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church Is this the rules for a Christian woman or is it out dated ?
Hey you! Can I get your opinion on dating? Preferably from adults/mature people/younger guys. I don't want alot of people writing idoitic stuff about my situation. I'm a seventeen year old Christian girl, and one of the rules in my house is that I not date until I'm 19. i can hang out with guys and be friends with them, just as long as we are being friends and not being intimate (friends= Concentrating on outside things that interest both of us. Intimate=Concentrating on each other. Got it?) That way I can concentrate on other things, since I'm not old enough to commit to anything anyway(meaning marriage, isn't that the objective of dating? To find someone to marry?). That way when I'm older and ready to actually commit to someone, I won't have the baggage of premature relationships. That's not to say I will marry the first guy I date, that's just saying I'm not going to date just for the sake of dating someone. I'll be dating someone to really get to know him and consider marriage. Does this make sense to you guys out there? Would you want to date a girl who hasn't ever dated anyone else before? Would you prefer that your furture wife had never dated anyone else? I'm just wanting some opionions.... Danielle- Really? You are the first person I've met that is in my same situation. It's nice to meet someone that TRULY knows what I'm talking about! Mr. Smith - Thanks! I'm definantly not the most logical ast times though!!!
What is dating doing for you (Please Girls only)? Hi Girls, All of you who are Christian and even if your not, what is "dating" doing for you? Many of you have had lots of boyfriends and some of you can't even count them, but the topic is how have you benefited from it. Is it a benefit to have given your soul, yet weeks later your single again and again and again. When will this cycle ever end? Is there "truly a perfect" person? Think about your families and how is that you have come to love them. How have you come to love anything? Doesn't it involve time, patience, enduring hard times and even the good? So why is it that dating isn't helping. In the bible states in Matthew 19: 4-5 "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Looking at this it means marriage when man and women become one. In the American society especially, your marriage is not confirmed until you go to the court house. In Gods view (stated above) that is when a marriage happens. So when, you guys are considering "dating" ,you are considering a marriage. The problem with the "dating" is that people are not really wanting to get married, they want to play and want others to take them seriously. For those who are serious then they want to be married. A lot people always say how can you meet someone without knowing them? What is the purpose of shaparone dating? The benefits are that you don't have to give of yourself right at the beginning and if you don't like them then there are no hard feelings..nothing happened. Secondly, your family can see if they like this person as well and if you do like them then marriage plans will happen and you won't be considered the "hoe" on the block. With time and patience and perserverance you come to love your partner as well. So, I want to here your opinions on what I've said above and what it is you guys girls are actually wanting from a date.Plus, looking at Gods point of view is the (non-shaparoned) dating allowed?? If we followed Gods rules would we have a different outcome?
Question for parents about teens dating? I'm 15 I've dated before and have kissed guys before. I have a purity ring so I'm waiting for marriage to go all the way. My question is does my dad care about my dating life? Like my mom and I are really close and we can talk about anything but I hardly ever talk to my dad about serious stuff. My parents are still happily married btw. But my dad will tell my mom what he thinks of me, but he doesn't tell me his rules when it comes to dating and other opinions about other topics. I'm a christian and I feel like I can talk to my youth pastor about more stuff then what I can with my dad. I just don't get why he doesn't seem to care. He is a good dad though and I know he loves me. I just wish I felt like I could talk to him about these things but I don't feel like I can. Do you tell your teenage daughters and sons what your opinions are? My mom tells me hers but my dad never tells me what he wants.
How to Be A Christian? Hey, I just needed some advice. I'm pursuing after being a Christian, and following the ways of God. But it's difficult since my parents aren't Christian and somewhat oppose to it. They don't know I'm a Christian. See the problem is, they have a rule that I can't date until I'm in University or older. I mean date at all. I'm trying to listen to them, since I'm suppose to honor and respect my parents. Horribly, though I HAVE dated/been with someone. Although, in both case I didn't have any/barely physical contact, unless you count a hug and dance. I feel horribly every time my parents ask me if I've had a boyfriend in my life, and I just simply lie. I'm 15 years-old. Is there any way I can resolve this?
I am not Racist! but I dont want my daughter dating Blacks.? I am not Racist! but I am against interracial dating and marriage. My daughter brought a black boy home from school against my rules. I told the boy to go away and never talk to my daughter again. Some of my best friends are black, but my Irish roots must be kept Pure, my daughter is 17 years old. I am a Christian How do you feel about my actions? Am I a Racist to have White Pride.
Parents teen dating question (preferably christian but tell me what you think) im 13? my parents found out about my girlfriend and made me break up wi th her, you see my parents dont let me date for reasons such as "you cant be friends afterwards", "you dont need all the emotions" and "holding hands only leads to sex", yeah i know, that was just retarded, but as i was saying, i disagree, you see my dad was a playa and my mom was a slut and both were druggies, but then in there early 20s converted, and now they raise with rules as if we were like them, but the thing is our relation ship wasnt like that, we didnt go anywhere past kissing, even after like 6 months, and she has really kept me out of trouble, and gotten me closer to fit. like i used to be addicted to porn, now i cant watch it without feeling like an *** and i cant stand it so i stopped. i felt like a dork with my athletic gf while i played world of warcraft, so i quit my subscription, even though i was like half a bar from my first level 80. i would always feel bad meeting her friends because she was really good looking and i was a little overweight, now people are starting to notice that i've been losing weight. i used to do drugs and things, but one day she found out and asked me to stop, i havent been high in months. i really dont think anything has taken a turn for the worst since we started dating. so my questions is what kind of arguments would you suggest i raise? and what should i do to get them to change their minds? well we have been going out behind there backs and still are, but i think my parents need to chill, i told my parents it wasnt anything serious and just for fun but they think fun=sex. well my parents think we are just friends now even though weve dated behind their backs, but i dont want to be friends, i wouldnt have done any of that for a friend, if i stoped dating her id soon be high and on the porn sites.
What makes people so sure they know what is right and wrong? about today's controversial social issues? Some would say, "well the inerrant word of God." If you believe in hell and hell is real, these people will burn in hell. Mind your own business. Didn't the christian God give us freedom of will? Honeybee, I oppose the religious right because they are trying to use the government to RESTRICT social freedoms based on their conservative interpretation of the Bible. Liberals like to use the government to ENFORCE social freedom. That means giving people the right to marry or not to marry a person of a different sex or same gender. The right to die or not to die for those under alot of pain. The right for a women to have an abortion or not have an abortion. The right but not the obligation to invitro fertilization. Believe it or not, invitro fertilization used to be a big controversial issue. That is the difference. sjs, Jimmy Carter is no longer a Southern Baptist. Keep up with the times. He left the church because they included new anti-women statements in their creed. http://edition.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/10/20/carter.baptists.ap/
Christian brother in law needs companionship for visit to US? My brother-in-law Nedzad is coming to the United States for 2 months this summer. He is inquiring about possibly meeting a female for companionship while in our country, since his wife isn't able to make the trip. Obviously, man should not be alone, so I want to help him. But most American women are so loose, I'm afraid of one of them giving him some sort of disease. What are some basic "rules" I should give him? Here are a few I came up with. 1. Girls with multiple tattooes are "guaranteed sex" when you take them on a date. 2. Most American girls have no tact or dignity. 3. Most American girls lost their virginity by 13, 15 tops. 4. American girls table manners are horrible. You don't have to eat EVERYTHING on ALL of the plates, right? The obvious exclusion to these rules are good fine Christian women. Many are obviously European nationals. Do you have any suggestions I can share with my brother in law? Meg, Do not call me honey. I do not know you, nor do I bounce around between women, unlike many American men.
Christian: Do you believe that the Bible is out-dated...If yes then WHY do you follow it..? Is believing it to be out-dated not blasphemy? since you are leading your life other than that which your God showed you? Also is stoning allowed in ANY part of the bible, the WHOLE bible, please understand my question that i am not looking for one part or one verse of the bible which says that stonnig is not allowed. I am on about the overall general view of the bible on this and many more issues So is the bible outdated? Is it not blasphemy that you use rules other than those which your God sent you to run/rule your lives. Please give good detailed, NON COPY AND PASTED answers to this. I ask this question because i know of a Christian who has stated that "the bible is out-dated" - if this is true then where is the new revelation? Trolls please stay away
Can you recommend a good Christian church denomination? I need to find a church to attend! Here's what I am looking for: 1. It MUST be a part of a national or international denomination or association of churches that has endured for at least 50 years without any significant changes. 2. It MUST be super "hardcore," in other words, all members must take their Christian faith VERY seriously every day of their lives. Their Christian faith must be to them a matter of life and death. The Jehovah's Witnesses are an example of this sort of "hardcore" dedication, but I've ruled them out since their supreme leaders have several times predicted the end of the world on particular dates, only to be proven wrong. The Mormons come pretty close too, but their founder, Joseph Smith, Jr., was obviously a huckster and con artist. 3. It must NOT be part of the Roman Catholic Church or the Greek Orthodox Church. The vast majority of the people in these churches do NOT take their faith very seriously. Plus, they depart seriously from the Bible.
Christian boy and non- religious girl? So this dude I have dated before was a christian and I was raised as one to. But as life went on I grew away from god. But I'm trying to get back with him and I'm afraid he will reject me if he thinks that I'm all misguided from god because I do not go full blown worship. What is the best coarse of action to make him under stand that I believe in god, but I don't like some of the rules of the religion so I prefer to stay about neutral is religion? Also do you know of any cases where this worked? Cause it worked for awhile then I don't know hat went wrong? Its not that I dont believe in god, its just a few aspects that I find hard and fill like I'm lying to myself when I try to comit to them.
dating and my parents.... My parents (mainly my mom), are freeking out about me wanting to date. ive been bugging them about this for over a year, year and a half. My mom says im to immature to date becuase ive been fighting with her lately. she said that becuese im fighting with her she would never late me get near a "young women". She also said that this is is the path im going to have to take if i want to date. supervised group activities, unsupervised group activities, group dates, and then maybe go on a date. Im almost a eagle scout, black belt, i'm in my churches praise team, ect... These are there rule's for when i start dating they have to know her they have to know her parents i have to know her parents I have to be good friends with her she has to be a christian i have to ask my parents if i can date her i have to ask her parents if i can date her I can understand some of these but i think some of them are a bit extreme. p.s. im a guy, 14 about to turn 15, and in high school. p.p.s. i almost went out with this one girl last year but she said she didnt want to go out cues she didn't think she was ready to date.my parents were fine with this.
I'm in love with 4 girls at once? what should I do? =\? Three of them fit the brown haired, brown eyed, 5'6-7" hight, skinny, 8-10 description, and one of them is blonde haired, blue eyed (like me), 5'8", skinny, 9-10 lol. I grew up with the blonde one, and dream about her [Non sexual dreams fyi, usually special/weird occasions. For instance, last night my dead dog was suddenly alive again, and I was actually happy like I used to be...with her] and her family all the time which bothers me because just when I think I'm over her, she's like that perfect girl who makes me happy or w/e. Basically, I fell for one of them when I was 12, another when I was 14 (my ex gf), another when I was 16, and the 4th one this year, at 17. However, I'm still completely attached to all of them. Two have boyfriends, and the other two I'm not entirely sure about FYI. The reason I didn't just stick with the first one was because I wasn't allowed to date when I was 12, and the reason my ex and I broke up was because I still wasn't allowed to date, and foolishly thought she wasn't 'worth it' (making a speech about why I should be allowed to date, especially a non Christian, etc). Now that the no-dating rule has been lifted for the most part (supposed to be with Christian girls only *rolls eyes*), I actually have the opportunity to get a girlfriend now. I get girl's numbers every once in a while (usually ages 15-16) and meet new chicks all the time, but if they aren't an 8-10, they are just good company or a self esteem booster, and I don't really fall for them. Any advice/suggestions on what I should do? I'd really like to pick just one/find one and go for it, but it seems like every time I'm just about to ask her out, she show's up with a boyfriend out of the blue! P.S. 2 of them are Christians, my ex is Catholic, and one's Agnostic.
Can apocalyptic Christian literature be turned into a sweet video game? As far as I know, the coolest Christian-approved video game to date was Bible Adventures, and It really wasn’t all that great. If you’re not Christian, Christian entertainment generally doesn’t have much allure. There are exceptions to this rule, of course: The Passion of The Christ, Christian rock music and videos of Christians talking about bananas can all be enjoyed ironically, but can we really expect them to make a decent video game? Then I watch this trailer and think to myself, “Wow - that actually looks pretty freaken sweet.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKo535TUHPo You know when you get bored playing Grand Theft Auto and just start murdering everyone and blowing stuff up to see how long you can survive? Well that’s pretty much what the apocalypse would be like, isn’t it? Throw some scripture into the loading screens, add a little more blood, and BAM - you’ve got yourself a certified Christian video game! Based on the trailer, what do ya think?
Should I tell my parents that I'm dating? This is...well, I gotta be honest, a stupid situation to be in. But I'm pretty torn. You see, I'm almost 17 and I was just asked out on my first date (the guy is 15 going on 16.) In fact, I just WENT on my first date. The only issue is, my parents didn't know. I'm allowed to date, but my mother won't allow me to do so unless I'm double dating (and since none of my friends will let me double-date with them, it's gotta be my sister and fiancé) I really didn't bother telling her of this most recent date because A( She'd complicate it. B( I was going with two other friends. So it wasn't a real, real date. I wasn't alone, at all with him, and felt that if I had to bring my sister into the picture, it'd ruin the night for everyone else. I come home and I tell her I was asked out on a date. Her first words are "just remember you have to double-date." Yeah, may I add she showed no enthusiasm. I remind her none of my friends will do that with me, and she nonchalantly says "Then it'll be with your sister." Well, this more than complicates things. It's IMPOSSIBLE enough to work around my own schedule, his, and our rides. Now I'd have to work around my sister's schedule, and her fiancés. We'd NEVER go out, and if we did, it'd be for 1 hour, once a month. I really feel I'd be better off keeping this from her until things got serious with him. This is just extremely casual dating. What do you think? (notes: I plan to stay a virgin until marriage. We're both Christian. I'd never go in a room alone with him, or be alone with him. I'd follow my mother's rules, I just wouldn't COMPLICATE things by doing it with my sister. As for 'breaking her trust' goes, she could honestly care less about what I do. I'm going on my first date and her reaction is "*nods* Remember the rules.")
What makes people so sure what is right and wrong about today's controversial social issues? Some would say, "well the inerrant word of God." But seems to me the "word of God' can be interpreted any which way. In 1840s America, the Southern Baptist Convention was created out of support for slavery. People today are doing the same thing with gays and gay marriage.
Can you recommend a Christian church denomination? I need to find a church to attend! What I'm looking for: 1. The Mormons too are very serious, but I do not believe that their founder, Joseph Smith, was a prophet of Heavenly Father. 2. It MUST be a part of a national or international denomination or association of churches that has endured for at least 50 years without any significant changes. 3. It must NOT be Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Southern Baptist, Assemblies of God, Missouri Synod Lutheran, Presbyterian, or any denomination that compromises or waters down the Bible, or has "fun" worship services.
My gf who is a Christian thinks that I should ask my mom to end some restrictions because i'm too old for them? Ok, my new gf says that if my mom continues the rules that have been in place for me since I was a child it will impact on our ability to date plus its really kind of weird anyway. I am a 19 year old boy and I still have a bedtime on school nights. It's at 10 pm. I get my pjs on at 9"30 then my mom comes in tucks me in and we cuddle for awhile. We have a discussion of what I'm doing the next day how my studies are coming along (I'm a Chemistry Major in college) and then she tucks me in and the next thing I know I'm sound asleep and when I open my eyes its morning. My 16 year old sister who does not have a mandatory bedtime (Heather thinks thats TOTALLY!! weird) says I sleep like a rock and now and then mom sends her into my room to make sure i'm breathing because I sleep so soundly. Anyway I get really tired and I mentioned that I like the mandatory bedtime because I really get tired and want to sleep. I get up at 5:30 in the morning and sometimes 6 if I'm sleeping in a little lol lol> I don't take naps during the day. The second restricttion is more weird. I have a 11 pm curfew on weekends (non school days) and its a problem for dating and parties (NOT wild parties but socials for Christian young adults like Heather and I) because it really breaks things up just when we are starting to really have fun. I'm thinking to offer my mom a mandatory 9 pm bedtime on school nights (its still Summer break) but I still go to bed like there is school the next day) in exchange for a 1 AM curfew on weekends if I'm out with Heather. She does not have any restrictions. Heather and I have been friends since middle school and we dated in high school. I did not have a driver's license so she drove and made sure to get me home by 11 pm. She would come inside and kiss and cuddle then she would leave to get home by midnight. i always called her on her cell to make sure she got home safely or she would call me.
How to let Christian men know that you like them? I really like this guy at church, but I am relatively new to this particular church and I have never dated/been interested in a practicing church-going christian so i am not sure what the rules are. He is pretty cool, 31 and a divorcee and I am shy, 23 and single. I like him and I believe he finds me attractive but has not made a move. How do I 'let him know' that I want him to make a move without breaking any social rules/norms? I like him a lot, and we've spoken very briefly but i want to get to know him more. Thanks!
Dating a Syrian man? My friend has just started dating a Syrian man who is 45 divorced, Muslim and he seems very nice and she is 44 divorced and christian (church of england). He asked her to go to a family gathering where there will be a party with his family and friends. She is wanting advice about how to behave with him and in social circles and wants to be aware of the rules, traditions and things not to do and do in the relationship as she is very interested in a long term relationship with this man and wants to respect his culture. He has lived in Australia for 10 years and is a citizen. Can anyone advise on what to expect. He is also very affectionate in public and has a very strong personality.
Christian young man...How to cope with sexual temptations towards fiancee before we get married ? I am with a wonderful woman for bout a year now. We didn't plan exact date for marriage, might take a few years due to finnancial probs...:( Now, we live together and we kept strong till' now keeping our purity. We have a small 1 bedroom place and we have to sleep in the same bed. Sometimes I get ashamed of myself when I feel i get excited and try to go to the bathroom or so something... Is there any plan with which U can rule out any sexual thoughts or desires out of your mind. I try to think of her as my sister sometimes, although I was the only child and it does work ocassionally. This really means a lot to us, we both want to do our best in keeping clean&pure... well......we're actually in a live-in-job so it's a small room, the living room is shared and they wouldn't allow me to put one xtra bed in this room...probly wouldnt fit either. I could sleep on the floor but its a little bit drafty. We're both poor, we're just starting to strugle for something in a new country (UK).... Tnx for the advice, benny , YES I agree, probly praying is the best thing to do :) :) :) :) :)
A question for Christians...it's regarding my 10 year old little cousins christian school..? I am a Christian....but I definitely do not understand this new school, my aunt has sent my little cousin to...She is iffy about it too. They have rules like you can only listen to Christian music....in school and out..not even Christian rock.....for the older high school aged kids, they are not to go on dates in or out of school. And the craziest thing was....during chapel...the preacher told her fourth grade class that Miley Cyrus was evil? Now what is that crap? At my church...we are taught to love everybody...love thy neighbor. Not love thy neighbor only if they are Christian. I was taught to love everyone despite any differences. Isn't that teaching hatred? I am a Christian, and I was never taught to hate anybody.....do you think that something weird is going on at this school...this is just a couple of many things that I think is weird. Every Christian church I have been to, never was anything like this. and about the Miley Cyrus thing...they were just basically saying not to like her, because she doesn't sing the appropriate music. My little cousin is in love with Hannah Montanna, and the concert we went to, she said that she had faith...and her grandfather passed away, and she had comfort that he was home with our Savior...that doesn't sound evil to me? More or less I think they are giving the children the wrong idea. A little girl in her class, tells my little cousin...that this person is evil...and that person...I just don't understand how a little teenage star...that her music and her tv show does not show anything evil, in my opinion at all....can be outed like she is doing something like committing murder or something...that's evil to me. And my aunt said that they are not allowed in dance or cheerleading...the Christian school she went to before this...which closed down...was nothing like this. They had a cheerleading team...and my cousin was allowed to go into dance. They just don't seem Christian like to me. And my aunt said a lot of the little girls..look a little Amish...the way they dressed, and just talk crazy? Saying things like pointing out other children and saying they are evil for wearing shorts and tank tops? That is so weird to me.
Dating a divorced man, a sin? I am dating a man who is divorced. I can honestly see myself marrying him, but as I am trying to become a stronger Christian, I need some advice. I was brought up believing that divorce is a sin except for unfaithfulness, and if a woman marries a man that divorced for anything else, that is adultry. My boyfriend divorced his exwife for many reasons, but one of the main ones was because she became addicted to drugs. Also he is 99% positive that she DID cheat on him. He had a different perspective that I had never thought about. When a spouse is unfaithful, they chose someone else over them. Well, his ex wife chose drugs over him and his daughter and neglected their marriage. He believes this is also a form of unfaithfulness. I would like to hear your opinions. Don't just say "God said so"; if you want to give scriptures that is fine. DO you think all rules in the Bible are cut and dry, or do you think some thigns change over time or could be interpreted differently? Thanks for the answers so far! A few details that might help you answer... 1)please, if you are a non-Christian please do not answer. I want to strengthen my relationship with God, and I want a Christian perspective. 2)He is a strong Christian and we put Christ as the center of our relationship. We often pray together and talk about the Bible. So, he's not just a random divorced guy...he is a good man, a great father to his little girl, and puts God first in his life. Thank you everyone.

Since when did christian values and common sense become a BAD thing? What is so horrible about staying in school, following the rules, graduating, going on to college, getting a good job, meeting the right person, falling in love, starting a relationship, getting married in a church, earning a decent living doing something you worked hard to become, buying a home, paying your taxes, and starting a family, and honoring your commitments? Since when did dropping out of school, doing drugs, having casual sex, never going on to school, having kids out of wedlock with people you barely know, suing for child support, dating other people with kids from other failed relationships, making less than $24,000 a year, racking up $30,000 in credit card debt, and then blaming conservatism and the government for all of life's problems become so popular in this country? Ironic that the institution of marriage, commitment, and morals are more important these days to gays and lesbians than they are to excuse making liberals!!!
What is the difference between Islamic fundamentalism & Christian fundamentalism? Both religions kill in the name of their God Both religions advocate conformity to strict social rules regarding dress, behaviour, music, food, religion... Both inhibit freedom of individuality Both repeal the rights of women Both believe in promoting religious education over science based education Both sets of religions have very dictatorial traits...ie there is little room for interpretation... Therefore, why are American convserative Christians so against the Islamic faith...they basically believe in the same way of life! Why are so many Americans concerned that Obama will introduce the Islamic faith into America? I heard crazy things such as 'Obama will make all women wear burkas' For background info on my perception of Christian fundamentalists see... http://www.fstdt.com/fundies/default.aspx?date=2008/10&archive=1
My parents who are very conservative doesn't like that fact that I'm dating someone of a different race? My family is a very conservative and traditional Christian Chinese family. I am the only girl and one of the youngest. My boyfriend is half Asian half European. The problem is they only want me to date Chinese people from our community. I am already 24 and its a house rule that we can only move out of our house once we get married and we can only marry Chinese people. I tried telling my parents about my boyfriend but they refuse to even meet him. They are very hurt and disappointed with the fact that I am dating someone who isn't Chinese and they think that it is very "un-Christian like" of me to do so. They tell me that I am breaking up the family with what i am doing. They are even willing to disown me if I don't break up with him. Is it really wrong to follow your heart? All these years, I've been the good responsible daughter. For once, I want to live my own life. Not the life being dictated to me by my parents. What should I do in this situation? All my friends are willing to help me when i leave my house but I don't know how to bring it up to my parents
Christian Dating? Christians only please... What are the "rules" on Christian Dating? I heard from so many people that God does not care about that area in our life??? That he gave us free will and that there is no such thing as a PreDestined Person that God has For you... What are your views on Christian Courtship???? What makes Christiand Courting Special??? Please give me your views!!!!!! I need feed back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
15 year old crisis. Christian Based Answers Needed? Me and my Family are Christians and i am really trying to live my life by the Bible and my parent's rules. but one of the rules i really have a problem with is not dating. So i disobeyed and went out with this boy. my mom met him before we started going out and she said she didnt like him, but she's really judgmental. anyways, i lied to her for a month about going out with him, and we hung out alot with the help of my 2 best friends. and just yesterday she found out. she flipped out and yelled at me and my friends. she forced me to make a promise that i wont talk to my 2 best friends and ex-boyfriend again. What do i do? I want to do the right thing, but i have to talk and be with my friends, but i dont want to disobey my mom. I've already lost her trust. I've also prayed and read the Bible alot but i still have no clue of what to do. Should i just do what my mom says and move on? Please help.
Why do I feel bad about breaking up with my gf? I am a Christian and I put God/Jesus Christ ahead of everything and I did not know that the bible said not to yoke yourself with others of a different religion or atheist. Well, it did and i had been going out with her for a long time and I had become emotionally attached to her but when I heard of this "Dating rule" in the Bible I quickly gave her up because of the Lord but it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. And now even though some of my Christian friends are telling me I did the right thing and I should feel good that she's still my friend I somehow feel bad about this. I would like to know anyone's oppinion on this please?
Why are Christian women hypocrites? I've dated three...shacked up ("living in sin" as you would say) with one for four months (non-denominational), lived with one for nearly a year before we got hitched (church of christer), ditched her and stayed with another half-way across the country for two weeks (a Baptist). First thing each one wanted to do was jump into bed. Not that I'm complaining, I just think if someone's so high on their god, they'd follow his rules a little more closely. They would have been worth keeping if it weren't for their "issues". And please...none of this "oh, they weren't real christians" nonsense. Give me a legit answer or get deported.
Do you think my religion is too strict? I have to follow alot of rules. i attend church 5 times a week, i have to wear skirts, i cant date till im ready to get married and even then it has to be sapporrowed, i cant go to movie theathers, cant wear short sleeves, and the other usuall christian stuff added. Whats ur opinion?
Are these Christian answers more accurate then Evolutions? The perfection of our bodies in all there complexity. Evolution: We began in a puddle of slime and worked our way up to perfect humans over millions of years of natural selection. This argument is a fantasy: NO proof that any animal or human is evolving or ever did. All animals are in a perfect state on the earth right now. We rule over these animals as GOD intended us to. Ok so since we are already using our imagination lets try another THEORY: There is a God who is all knowing and he has a Son Jesus Christ. The earth was created by a God who is perfect. Now this is VERY possible. In this equation we have a creator. All of earth points to some kind of intelligent design. Do we have proof there is a God? Yes The Jews were led by him out of Egypt. No true? There are Jews today. Another witness? Okay. Jesus Christ. Was he real? NO? What is that date you put on all your checks? 2007AD Two Thousand and Seven years after the death of who? The son You can call me stupid, but if you don't back up your argument with even one fact as to why you think that, the word STUPID just echo's right back at you.
To ALL those who call themselves Christian today is this a fair question with Copeland in the news BIG TIME? "They said: Caesar's." (image on tax coin in Jesus day) Then he (Jesus) said to them: "Pay back, therefore, Caesar's things to Caesar, but God's things to God." (Matt. 22:21) Simply put give taxes to Caesar (government) and worship only to God (of Bible) and do not mix the two up. Do not worship a government and God does not need our taxes. He God owns all things but for now allows the Dveil to rule over human governments. (Matt. 4:8-10) > The Copeland/Huckabee Love Affair < copy to search if link below does not work. http://www.wittenburgdoor.com/huckabee-copeland "It is regrettable that someone so influential within contemporary Christianity continues to preach a message that overturns virtually every major biblical teaching. To date, Copeland refuses to discuss with his critics the issues raised in this article. We only hope that he will soon realize the dangerous road he is traveling." Looks like he does not obey government or God! Can of a dangerous influential man, RIGHT? Clergy/Candidate/Church/State/mix of that kind of influence, NOT GOOD! That is international influence the United Nations needs to take serious note of! And the Bible says they will notice in time! One or the other takes first place! FACT! "You cannot serve both God and Money." Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:13 Holy Bible, New International Version (Jesus said give FREE-Matthew 10:8) "Heal the sick , raise the dead , cleanse the lepers , cast out demons . Freely you received , freely give . (New American Standard Bible) In Jesus day healing was done for free and out in the open so they could see it was for real! (not a show for money)Why not now out of love like back at that time? Who made a business out of healing? God's Son Jesus or todays clergy? Would Jesus say the below to clergy today? "Stop making the house of my Father a house of merchandise!" (John 2:16) Same word merchandise in King James Bible too! Another version does say business. Look around that Scripture and see why Jesus said that. (Money-4-lights-etc.-not-clergy,-let-them-go-out-&- make-it-like-faithful-of-old-did-Paul-etc.) Jesus said "my Father a house"! Who is he? Jesus said hallow the Father's name, where? King Jame Bible, "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." (Psalm 83:18) That is the name of the Father and God of Jesus, who wants his name hallowed (Matt. 6:9) and known to all men. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." (Ex. 20:3) In Exodus 20:7 it says not to use that hallowed name in vain, it did not say, not to use it. Jehovah used the faithful to put in his word the Bible near 7000 times his name, kind of sounds like he wanted it there, big time! Who did he give the right to take is name out against his copyright law at Revelation 22:18,19 that says not to add or take anything out! Look and see what will happen to those who do one or both of those things! Jehovah's Witnesses do not mix in government/war and have no paid clergy. We do not hate the clergy or government leaders but love Jehovah and his Son Jesus who will soon be King of ALL the earth and fix ALL things no candidate anywhere on earth can fix. You can try! This was on the web below. November 16, 2006 Robertson Says All Other Religions Worship “Demonic Powers” A viewer wrote in to ask Pat Robertson a question Why [do] evangelical Christians tell non-Christians that Jesus (God) is the only way to Heaven? Those who are Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, etc. already know and have a relationship with God. Why is this? It seems disrespectful. Robertson replied that it is not at all disrespectful because all other religions really just worship “demonic powers.”No. They don’t have a relationship. There is the god of the Bible, who is Jehovah. When you see L-O-R-D in caps, that is the name. It’s not Allah, it’s not Brahma, it’s not Shiva, it’s not Vishnu, it’s not Buddha. It is Jehovah God. They don’t have a relationship with him. He is the God of all Gods. These others are mostly demonic powers. If Robertson knows God's name is Jehovah why does he not hallow it on his TV show? Does he fear the demons to and no money in worship of that God?FACT? It was ask below, is it a sin to vote? My main answer was Matthew 4:8-10 where Jesus told the Devil to go away. What did the Devil want to give Jesus and what would Jesus have to do to get those things? Who do we vote for if we take what Jesus would not take from the Devil? But we have free will, so make your own free will choice! Life comes from following Jesus good example, TRUE? The Kingdom given to Jesus is about to take over the earth and those who want him as their King. We have a great choice before us! Who do you want to rule over you? Can any candidate in truth fix things? We have hear the same kind of big talk about fixing things before but what do we still have? Where is PEACE & SECURITY etc.? Your choice who you vote for, TRUE? A serious choice we ALL have! Godly wisdom is needed big time right NOW! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai1NZKTIvOWL01iuvEe_kffsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080208094244AAZtdqx&show=7#profile-info-0509a790fe9f326fe979c75e17a81017aa
